Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentration (BMAC)

Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentration (BMAC) is a biologic product similar to our Platelet Rich Plasma injections (PRP). In this procedure, however, we are taking the mesenchymal stem cells from the bone marrow of the patient. This is put into a centrifuge and spun until concentrated, separated, and then injected into an injury or painful site. The final product is autologous tissue with the cellular equivalence to iliac crest bone graft. This stem-cell rich platelet concentrate helps to heal the injury site.

This procedure provides the patient with a non-surgical and non-invasive way to reduce pain. Candidates for this procedure include anyone suffering from chronic pain. Typically a patient will get an initial injection with a follow up injection about 4 weeks later. The number of needed injections will be decided on a patient-by-patient basis.

The bone marrow aspirate concentration contains a higher level of regenerative cells than traditional PRP injections, which allows us to obtain even greater results.
